Secularist materialism is (purposefully) reaching the end of the road and people are left empty handed and realizing spirituality is both not a bad word and in some form necessary to a well rounded life.
The issue is that this revelation isn't organic, its by design. It's meant to prime people for a manufactured solution to their spiritual and material woes: The Antichrist, yada yada, whatever you wanna call him. The nomenclature is lacking, but the archetype it describes is very real. And it's going to upend the whole global structure in ways that are deceptively gratifying and seductive.
You do have light in you, everything does, it's the aspect of the divine. And the "Antichrist" is going to sift from the world all those who are incapable or unwilling to hold onto it.
