Okay, I believe an afterlife exists so I operate from that point of view. I think you kick the soul out of the body by killing it which may reduce suffering of the pain of being human (just like suicide would following the same logic) but you violate that person's choice and will. So if you kill me I would be pretty pissed that you ended the arc of my character and how my story ended out of your own selfish desires without even asking or including my freedom or choice in it. Therefor the crime has been committed against me.

If you are certain there is no soul and it ends there, alright, it would be different.

The amount of suffering would go down most likely unless the souls on the other side have a huge problem with that and over time their anger or sadness would go up so high that it would tip the scales.

But as long as we are forced or chosen to live this life I think violating the free will of others in extreme ways is evil. I know I do it too in some ways and I don't claim to be good, but I wouldn't say that me doing it isn't wrong and just neutral or irrelevant.
