Someone who isn't fully conscious and trying to describe the world in terms they can understand. Rationalism isn't enlightened. It's just an attachment of labels (with rules between them) and ultimately pretending that knowing the label for a thing is the same thing as knowing the thing. Semantics are deeper. "The universe is a computation" could be a valid statement in a system of language, but it doesn't actually tell you anything about the universe, even if you make analogies to computational systems. Computation is something that rationalists understand very well, so they may try to use this metaphor for everything.
