Yes, sure, I'm taking liberties. The idea is to suspend from the ever-encroaching influence of that pivotal point - where Consciousness emerges.
Yggdrasil is therefore an inflection point, where above and below are mirrored. This is the gateway we travel through to steal the Gods' Fire and return through to share it with the rest. Maybe it would have been better stated as such: "The Tree is the gateway to Consciousness."
Still, from the Tree springs Knowledge, Everlasting Life and Purity (in intention for example), all features of Consciousness.

Actually, hanging from the Tree means departing from the Fates, anon. That's sort of the point. You "die", leaving the path laid out before you behind, journeying instead to find your True Will, not the rails the overseers and their pets constructed for us to live as mere slaves - husks.

I'm not so sure you have it quite right, anon. After you receive the Eye, the whole point is to use it to examine Self. This is how we differentiate the parts of self, analyze them separately and then rejoin them, reconstructing Self anew. This is actually what happens when we journey Inward - the idea is to commit oneself to the path of Inner Discovery and emerge, as stated before, with the Fire that will warm, enlighten and satiate humanity.
