perhaps i will read the linked articles later on, so far i've only glanced over them and a third one by that guy. it seems to me that he argues that "there is no porn addiction because there is no difference in various measures between self-described addicts and other people", where the various measures are amount of porn watched and neural response to sexual stimuli. that is completely beside the point, it really makes me wonder if that guy is really being ingenuous.

for one, he may be onto something in that the concept of porn addiction could be overblown and some people obsess over porn addiction when their levels of watching porn are relatively typical. but that misses the point that there are lots of men who want to quit watching porn altogether, but fail to do so. how do you call a habit that isn't physiologically essential which you, for the life of it, just seemingly aren't able to quit despite all good efforts and honest tries?

then, clearly the brain is complex and the neurological measures he looks at for finding differences are inadequate for this type of addiction.

he should try to refute these basic points
