You two are retarded. There's no math to this game. You level up and you get better gear to kill monsters better. You don't need to understand THAC0 or AC. You don't even need to pay attention to them at all. Zero math is involved in understanding how to play these games. Knowing that one number is bigger or smaller than another is not math, that's just called numbers (5 & 6 year olds learn to do this in kindergarten). Example: You see a sword with +2 and a sword with +3, which is better? A kindergartner can tell you correctly the +3 sword is better. Not rocket science. Example: you see a suit of leather armor and you see a suit of plate armor, which is better? A kindergartner can tell you correctly that metal is harder than leather, so you should wear the plate armor if you can. Again, not rocket science. Example: I see my dude is missing sometimes. What do I do? If you read anything during chargen, you'd know strength has to do with melee shit, so you try and find ways to boost strength. No math. Even if you didn't know it was strength, you could very easily run a few tests and figure out which stat improves your hit/miss rate. Whether or not you know or understand the underlying math is inconsequential because you're playing with what you have, so you do what you can, use the better stuff that comes along and you'll be fine. Why? Because the game does a good job of following basic logic. 10 year olds were playing these games and beating them when they came out in the late 90's and early aughts. Nobody's getting filtered by math and calculations unless they're legitimately mentally disabled, which I'm beginning to think you both are.
