>the combat gimmick is amateurish and doesn't fit into the game at all. They just added that roulette wheel thing because that's all the devs could think of to make the combat more interesting. You always just want the exp boost one too.
>horrible leveling mechanic, where beating up trash mobs in the tutorial zone is actually more optimal than beating tough enemies for maximizing stats
>long, unskippable animations for basic attacks
>movie game. It's pretty much proto-MGS4 with its endless, "encyclopedia" dialogue where the characters don't sound like people but rather they're wikipedia robots that explain the world to you rather than just showing it
>2 is apparently bad (1 was so bad I couldn't play it) and 3 is apparently rushed so the whole trilogy is fucked
>main character design in the first looks like she's a librarian NPC, rather than a main character. Up to you if you like that but they make her look better in the sequels so apparently the devs considered it a problem too.
