Because it´s a bad game. Period.

>Can´t import all those world shaping decisions from previous games
>Can´t really make decisions on the game because the devs decided what kind of character Rook is beforehand
>Body models suck. The game is stylized but you can´t exaggerate proportions that would highlight the differences between sexes (we all know why)
>The tone is wrong (even by Inquisition standards) and blood magic´s been disallowed because devs deemed it problematic
>Since companions are mostly disconnected from previous games most information is conveyed by exposition dialogue
>Other dialogues just completely break immersion because they use 2024 real life lingo
>Maps look ok at first but the silly puzzles, MMORPG tier chest and ziplines break immersion
>Equipment screen´s been simplified again and items are basically tailored to each character so customization suffers yet another hit
>Party members equipment screen´s even more reduced
>Party member can´t die in battle, instead they are there just to trigger prime and detonation combos
>Solas´s been demoted to an opening and closing act.

So yeah... that´s not good. At least not for a main entry of an established IP. Should have named it something else. The game wouldn´t be better but it would not have taken that much fire for being shit. It´s the kind of game we wouldn´t even be discussing if it wasn´t called Dragon Age.
