Everything about Skyrim's NPCs is either all wrong, or uniquely scripted. For example, the first village you come to in the game after the dragon attack, I forget the name now, is full of neat scripted events that really make the place come alive. If you huck something valuable into the street, people will try to fight over it, etc. You can hurl objects around, there's physics, all kinds of bustling around. But the devs literally forgot to implement this anywhere else in the ENTIRE GAME lol. Take the cider brewery outside the city you encounter on your journey after that. Looks amazing. But you can't do SHIT. the tanks won't even spill cider on the floor because they're entirely non-interactive. You can't take honey and boil it with water then pitch the yeast or anything. You can't even bake except in your own hovel, there's no reason at all for that limitation to exist.

U8 is less interactive and alive than UVII for sure though. Smaller. Cramped. Weird. It was rushed.
