Not entirely; it was Blaustein's fuckup that led to the bullshit about "Snake get the dominant genes and Liquid getting the recessive genes" and implying that somehow dominant means "strong" and recessive means "weak", which isn't how genes work. IIRC in Japanese Liquid says something like "you were engineered to inherit Big Bosses strongest traits, and I was given the weaker traits", not once referring to "dominant/recessive genes".
