I will never understand this mindset, I guess it's just stubborn aspergers. It's like when people say that The Ramones don't matter to the development of punk music because there were four Peruvians in a garage somewhere 10 years earlier playing vaguely similar music. Okay, but no one listened to or took inspiration from that, they took inspiration from The Ramones, who themselves had no idea that those Peruvians existed.

It's just contrarianism and the need to constantly "well actually" everything that makes discussions like these so frustrating. The evolution of a genre or artistic techniques isn't just this straight line, but autistics can't grasp that for some reason. And 4chan has a lot of autistics.
