This is not about the animal fuckers. I was peer preassured into using Discord in ~2017 because my old forum was discontinued by powers that b. This was back when Discord was directly marketed for people that play well or are passionate about preserving vidya - ...and the platform also wasn't trying to larp as reddit, instagram and fucking whatnot, simultaneously. It's made to exploit unmonitored kids. If you stopped living under a rock you'd notice things like big emo anime server #999 giveaways, the bizarre partnership programs, «Discord sings x» vids, and other unnatural in-platform things i can only compare to Roblox and it's "userbase".
