I won't argue that both parties aren't oligarchic, but it stuns me that the Democratic Party has had MORE rich donors than the Republicans in every electoral cycle since 2008 (when Republicans dominated rich donors from about 1948 to 2004) and this simple statement of fact somehow can't enter the public consciousness
