you can actually see your fucking skins you spent money on. you can have crazy melee and movement focused characters without the average casual having a seizure trying to do that shit in first person so you can have a wider variety of gameplay styles then just "pick what 1 fps gun is your favorite, heres a few cooldowns to enable it" that both ow and concord fell into

very similar to marvel vs capcom in previous decades the simple fact is a lot of people really like the IDEA of marvel characters, they just hate what marvel is doing with them in terms of comics and more recently the films. rivals being made by some chinese weebs who also like decades old comics led to them making some pretty bespoke composite versions of characters that reference the mcu enough for casuals and have deep cuts in their design/behavior for appease long term fans while also putting the whole game in the 2099 future weeb tech look to appeal to people who dont care about marvel but just think cyber captain america or demon slayer psylocke look cool
