It's a singleplayer permadeath card game but not really since you're not drawing cards from a deck. It basically doesn't tell you any of the rules and figuring them out is part of the game. The goal is to go from an average joe to starting a cult and accend to some sort of godhood (or die from insanity or depression in the process)

It's very story and lore heavy (basically the appeal of the game.) but it's not a scripted linear story thing. Easiest comparison is probably Souls and item descriptions, every card has some writing and fills out a bit more of the world. The writing and music are pretty fucking fantastic and for being a card game it has some top tier atmosphere, but be prepared for grinding and bullshit deaths

It's really cool but I can't think of any direct comparison.
