whenever this movie is posted, someone always brings this up like it's a huge gotcha since the prevailing sentiment online is that climate change isn't real (which I do agree with). the movie is about despair. it doesn't matter if climate change is real or not. you could have just as easily made this movie in the 60s with a priest who's obsessed about nuclear annihilation in the cold war. the priest hates the world and latches on to a psyop to justify his violence
