this is surprisingly accurate. i never thought about it before but subcultures in chicago are very cliquey. i used to live in wicker park when i was doing theater and if you weren't an actor, musician, artist, and/or bartender you would basically have no friends.

if you've got the scratch for it i'd say go with NYC. life seems to move at a different pace there. it's the cultural mecca of the USA and will remain so long after everywhere else has stagnated.
