The lead (Read: only remaining) dev has gone on record as saying this is how it's meant to work and that the core rules have no mistakes in them.
But no, RAI is not "You need to fix and overhaul the rules massively to actually work", retard, that's called homebrew. And the community has already homebrewed the game to hell and back, which got everyone who participated in it blacklisted by the dev. It doesn't really matter because the homebrews are all shit anyways.
