Depends upon what you mean by old school and osr. I for example agree that the three brown books are old school but they're not osr because they're not reborn, Maybe they are revived and used in the last 20 years or so since the osr started. It depends upon what you think that r stands for in osr.

is more like he had nothing to do with it beyond what he had to do with 1e. Which is a lot because 2e is mostly 1e with a bit more pasted on in the form of settings and splat books. The commonalities are extreme.

You think you're being clever by making a ridiculous comparison intended to show how stupid the other anon was but you're not. AD&D 1e is far larger and crunchier than BX, so now you have to say that AD&D isn't part of the same family of games. 2e splats don't as a rule affect the core mechanisms. BX, BECM, AD&D both editions, are substantially the same game with relatively small flavour differences. The addition of splats is optional anyway. Since they arrived gradually over time the worst one could say, if your thesis is true which it isn't, is
