I overestimated how common it is to take the mother's last name in Sweden, assumed it was similar to Denmark and Norway
It's very rare that a kid with three Norwegian grandparents and one foreign one ends up with a singular foreign surname here
Seems like only 10-15% Swedes born after 1990 keep their mother's surname while it's more like 40-50% in Denmark and Norway

In Norway any person with at least 1 grandparent born outside Norway is legally considered a third generation immigrant regardless of where they and their parents were born (pic related), I assumed it was the same in Sweden
