I think it's cause they expect some form of superhuman perfection. In OP's case, it's being super tall.

In the recent women I've encountered, at least from here, we could have had everything in common, be born from the same city, gone to the same university, like the same music artists, etc etc, but because I like to put mustard on my hotdogs instead of ketchup.... NOPE... That's a deal breaker to them.
