Names ARE important. So is continuity. And so is having a reason for changing something that people have integrated into their immutable worldview. There was never any valid, justifiable reason for not only reclassifying Pluto but engaging in such a lengthy and intense televised shame campaign to force it into public acceptance like the largest square peg in the smallest round hole. Whether it makes you seethe to realize it or not, we are not automatons that can simply have a card ejected and replaced to change our thinking. Humans like to inhabit a world that isn't constantly reinventing its rules for no good reason at the behest of clerics who demand obeisance.
