Does studying enough boolean logic actually help on an IQ test or is this just one way of formulating what's going on?

I mean if you had a high enough IQ would you just "see" whats happening even with no previous exposure to the system?

I learned boolean algebra in my digital systems class and couldn't immediately identify the pattern so I guess not, I just wasn't thinking that progressive matrices could include "destructive" problems.
