So I got into a debate about the word "antisemitism" and boy did that open up a rabbit hole.

I was arguing that the term couldn't just apply to Jews, and was being used incorrectly in the media all the time, because Muslims are technically Semites [look it up], and the vast majority of Palestinians are Muslim, thus they are Semites as well. So the term "antisemitic" should also be applicable to hate speech directed at Palestinians.

Even after admitting that Palestinians are Semites, however, my interlocutor continued to argue that the term "antisemitic" only applies to Jews. I said that position was bigoted itself, because it excludes one group of Semites from the definition, and also, it isn't typically how etymology, grammar, or syntax work. But then he pulled up the definition on the Merriam-Webster website, and, low and behold, it says, "hostility toward or discrimination against Jews as a religious, ethnic, or racial group."

And I scratched my head and thought, "well, fuck me." But then I thought, "CUI BONO?"

So I looked up, "who owns Merriam-Webster dictionary" and it turns out it's Encyclopedia Britannica. But then I looked up, "who owns Encyclopedia Britannica" and BAM, pic related, it's this guy, Jacqui Safra from the Safra family. Then I looked up the Safra family, and holy shit.

This fucking family used to have control over the First International Bank of Israel, which has been building settlements in the West Bank for decades, and Cellcom Israel, which has also been providing utilities to Israeli settlers for decades.

So it turns out a fucking Zionist Jewish banking family literally owns the definition of "antisemitism" because they own the fucking dictionary itself.

And it gets even crazier. These people have been accused of profiting from drug trafficking, arms shipments, and slave labor. They fucking own Chiquita Banana, which, aside from the slave labor thing, was found liable for funding paramilitary death squads in Colombia. & on & on
