depending on where you are early morning, before 930am, in spring and summer. That's what I have the best luck

use merlin bird app and play their calls, I have great luck with that, even during the winter(pics rel >>4402975 >>4402935)
>Blue jays
at least in my area are super flighty, need to be in shadowed spot and still for a while before they get comfortable, haven't had luck personally calling them yet but I'd try merlin for that
>bears
Depends on where you are, nearby land, and what time of year. I run into them hiking a lot(at least black bears) right after bear hunting season(the fuckers know I get a tag or two every year I swear)
