what game on what distances did you (successfully) do?

i watched some .17hmr videos and basically it was americans maiming all kinds of animals up to wild boars. There was barely any kill shots, often not even a second corrective shot. Lots of giggling though.

I was initially attracted by the flat curve of the 17.hmr. It "only" goes up to 800 joule though
If i'd go with a stronger charge and heavier bullet, the 17. hornet for example, the curve seems like in most other cartridges in that general category.

The scenario i have in mind is 150m shots at geese and swans on large flat plots of land. i am afraid any curve advantage from the 17.hmr would be negated by the wind drift on the light bullet.
