I get your fear anon, growing up there were these dogs that just ran around loose and I'd get chased by them going home every day from school. Valid fear, just remind yourself most dogs just wanna sniff you and identify you.

Might not be the best idea granted you'll probably act on fear and not for defense. Recommend going to a dog park, just hang out near the fences watch them and try to understand them better. Then go in and maybe try to pet one. I'm sure there's some single mom there that'll ooze at the opportunity to exposure therapy you with their dog.
