it removes the carbon buildup concerns, but it also increases complexity. if you wanted a modern ICE, its the best option for long term longevity, but it will make maintenance more expensive

honestly, anon, right now, im strongly opposed to buying any modern car. except stuff you can reasonably expect to increase in value like eg the last gen of ICE caymans.
any EV you buy will greatly depreciate as the tech is not mature yet and future ones will be much better.
and any ICE you buy is seriously compromised due to the enormous complexity incurred by attempting to conform to very strict environmental regs. modern ICE powerplants are far more fragile than decade+ old ones, and way more expensive to maintain too.
so, yea, imo the play right now is used for sure. on the EV side, that means a used tesla, on the ICE side, that means 10+ years old to get a somewhat reliable/workable engine.
