Hitler was the deathnell of the great European empires, allowed Russia to take over half of Europe, and set western civilization back decades because he wanted to do old-school colonial Imperialism in the west. There's a reason why everyone else was basically doing their shit halfway around the world, and that's because they understood that you don't shit where you eat.

And these wars of conquests are doubly stupid in the 21st century. First, we get all we want with less investment and animus through neo-imperialism. Second, we all have nuclear weapons. Any war where we're invading our other 1st world colleagues is going to end up with billions dead, and the planet rendered inhospitable for a couple of decades.
