ATC was telling the military helivopter to get the fuck outta the other plane's landing slot. Helicopter responds with they is aware of the danger and have visual seperation, Helicopter then gets even more in it's way and plays chicken.
How is that ATC's fault, exactly?
fucking retards. ATC don't have control over military flights. Which is entirely how/why the pilot ignored ATC. Try that as a civillian pilot and watch what happens next.

And air crash investigators. And anyone with any sense. The Army helicopter shouldn't have been loitering around a civillian airport. It should have listened to ATC's instructions. It should know better than to ascend into a descending glideslope. ATC did what ATC is suppposed to do, order the offending craft away from the scheduled craft's space. Failure to listen to ATC is the fault of... the helicopter.

Transcripts say otherwise. ATC controller following script perfectly. Helicopter claims to have seen danger and overrides ATC with an ascertion of 'visual seperation'. Some have claimed a mis-identification of inbound threat - but this craft has a military radar with tail numbers and headings on the MFD. If ATC list a tail number and heading, and the helicopter still makes an error with all this information available to them - this is only possible to attribute to the helicopter. More specifically, as this was a training flight, it's attributable to the instructor, as should the pilot have done something other than instructed, the instructor also has controls and will be forcing the aircraft to adhere.
