Disney has revealed that the cost of making the live action version of its classic cartoon The Little Mermaid swelled to nearly $300 million by the end of August last year, eight months before the movie opened. It grossed $298.2 million in the United States and Canada, and $271.4 million in other territories, for a worldwide total of $569.6 million. Return of the Jedi was released in 1983 before Disney owned Lucasfilm, and Harry Potter is not owned now nor has it ever been owned by Disney.

Except that every financial report I can find says Disney is still profitable, its profits rose this year vs last year, it's stock price is "stagnant" only if you look at less than 5 years of data which includes the wild swings of the covid market, almost every fund and index says it's a buy, and these investors at blackrock and other places literally have a fiduciary duty to invest pension funds properly under penalty of lawsuit or federal jail if they don't do so.
Again, do you have any evidence besides "probably?"

So the only reason people don't want to go to the theater to watch Disney movies is DEI/ESG? It couldn't be the quality of the animation or the ever increasing prices at the theater or a rejection of corporate media, it must be because the little mermaid was a black girl?
