You're not wrong but they're nevertheless frameworks you'll have a really difficult time to assimilate into society without.
Thinking your life can't be beautiful or meaningful without them is idiotic, however enjoying people's disappointment each time you "miss" on an opportunity like it is less about masochism and more about them being envious of your freedom, which is something they gave up. I might be giving normies too much credit here because they often don't hold enough self awareness to realize that, their line of thought ending with "Why wouldn’t he beg me for this opportunity? Is he stupid or something? It’s the best thing there is".

You're mistaking disgrace for cowardice. When people throw around the word "coward" just to shame someone into doing something they're not talking about actual cowardice, it's just a measure of control.
Real cowardice is that painful moment when something you desperately want is right in front of you, and you feel it knowing it’s possible, but still you do nothing. Then you turn away. And you live with the pain for the rest of your life.

Elaborate? In my experience the more beautiful, smart, high-rank you are the more attention you'll get, but children and young people are receiving much more authentic interest than adults (perhaps because they represent a short period anyone went through that had a sense of endless possibilities in it) while nobody seems to care about old people at all.
