It almost certainly will because it will appeal to ideals of fairness and will apply equally to male and female people alike. The logic of it is already set in motion.

I'm not saying that in 3 years we're going to have people advocating to remove sex designation from birth certificates or to force all restrooms to be gender neutral.

I'm saying that it will begin in areas where there has been obvious overreach, like where republican policies will lead to trans girls being banned from playing chess with cis girls in school clubs.

It will be trivial to convince people that sex segregation in chess is weird. And liberals will find it a nice way to support both LGBT rights and feminism without any contradiction: "boys and girls are equally smart so they should be able to play chess together."

From there other areas of life could be desegregated along similar grounds, and at each stage of desegregation, some higher level of social acceptance of the idea will be achieved. Unlocking new possibilities.

Eventually, I'd expect us to advocate having sex and gender markers both stricken from civil documents and only left on medical records.

I'd expect there to be more popular open sports leagues. This won't start with a trans woman playing, it will start with butch cis women or trans men joining men's sports and doing well in some niche roles where they can compete.

It's just... the way it's going to be. In politics all slopes are slippery, and this will certainly be the result of conservatives running with sex and gender being different, thinking it's some sort of gotcha.

I fully suspect that you will see much of this unfold in your lifetime, and you will die mad. lol
