Most of the population of the island are Filipino laborers who either do maintenance on the ships or run the various other shore facilities. The actual uniformed USN contingent is like 10 guys, maybe 5 RN guys onshore, and the RMs. I'm sure Russia/China etc already know the conditions on the base since you can just wait in Manilla until there is an arriving flight from Sri Lanka and ask one of the coolies getting off the plane if he'd like to make $20k for a two hour conversation.

When I was there I tried to bring this up- how vulnerable the base was. I mean fuck, we had a typhoon hit us and one of the ammo ships was dragging anchor straight towards one of the other ammo ships and then it lost HP air so we couldn't start the generators or main propulsion. Had to cut the anchor chain with a plasma cutter in the middle of a fucking typhoon and have the tug push us away for like 4 hours until the storm passed.

So even if nobody is shooting at you just like an accident can wipe the place out. At a bare minimum they should put up some obstacles and sensors on the east side, maybe mine it. Hardened shelters for the aircraft. And some kind of A/D, even just a C-RAM or something at the base.

Currently it is plausible that a frog frogman style assault could not just destroy the B2s but actually capture them. There is frequently zero infantry on the island whenever the RMs are out catching tuna poachers, the USN guys are on the ships and won't get to the island in time and the 5 RN supply dudes are not going to give you a big problem I don't think.

It's a serious issue but I was always blown off when I mentioned it.
