Not defending Jackson, but the LOTR trilogy is the best we can hope to get out of Hollywood.
A tonally and poetic accurate adaption would only appeal to hippies, autismos and people who can afford buy and paint a full custodes army.
It would include great stuff like:

>Everyone gushing about elven food, great hobbit food and Tomb Bombadil telling his version of the world.
>Gandalf fighting in the background and casually palpatine lightning nine Nazgul.
>Boromir's death and funeral is in season 2/film 2 at the start because lol.
>Eowyn has teenage angst and throws herself into battle because Aragorn tells her politely to fuck off.
>Faramir is based beyound belief and does not even consider taking the ring.
>Even more singing, but by Orcs.
>Saruman using human beraucrats to tardwrangle orcs and Uruk-hai.
>Frodo is fucking old and Sam a little kid. Go figure why Jackson didn't want to do this one.
