I do feel like it would be poetic if the boomers ended the world (Post WW2 world order, that is) they came into on their way out. If you were writing a book this would be the chekov's gun on the wall, the easy prediction and unsubverted ending. And this is pretty much the last gasp for der boomer to do so: Trump being one, Biden technically is silent generation (wild) but still kind of counts, Putin is one if Russia had a baby boom after WW2.

I don't think it will happen, but I also think if it will happen it will happen in the next 4 years. You could argue that as WW2 recedes from memory people will be more cavalier and casual about the idea of "YEAH WAR YEAH KILL EM ALL". But I just think it's way too poetic for the 'world' that was the post WW2 order to end under those who benefitted the most from it. That world order being rules based systems, general stability about nation-states if you weren't next to Russia (IE even in the third world attempts at territorial aggrandizing wasn't much tolerated except in nibbles. See Idi Amin or Saddam).

Not that the future is Fallout 3, but more that the future is either the nuclear taboo broken (Russia uses it, gets smote, everyone gets scared and starts pursuing their own nooks) or just a level of death greater than anything since WW2, even if that is 10% of what the apocalyptic theories are.

Except in Russia because lol their population centralization and centralization of power means they are in for a world of pain
