she's walked back on that figure, because simple math tells you that their population is roughly 13,000 at least, because the standard Hogwarts cohort is 100 / year (Harry's is abnormal, perhaps due to the war) and wizards have abnormally long lives

Whether she's ever admitted to it or not, the way that the good guys and bad guys fight each other is the same sort of tit-for-tat retaliations, small scale terror operations, and counter-insurgency that went on in the 80's/90's while she was alive and in London.
