I have made both of these types of friends over the course of the past dozen or so years I've been in this place. They're some of the closest friends I've ever made in my life and I imagine we'll still be talking and meeting up even when we're in our 50s.
Hell I've even made a couple friends through some of the more recent multiplayer server hosts, though obviously we're not nearly as close but instead are just acquaintances to sometimes throw out an invite to, but that's still something.
