Yep. When i worked as a waiter, american tourists, mainly women, were the only ones that'd ask how my day was going and actually expected an answer before even placing the order. My autistic ass would never know how to properly reply and would just awkwardly answer and then immediately ask for their orders. There was always this awkward moment after my answer as if they expected me to ask the same back, like bitch I don't care how your day is going and I don't care to tell you about how mine is.

Being social during the order or anytime after is fine. American dudes were always complete bros. But starting the interaction with an interrogation, no thank you.
