If you are a fan of someone's work then you will have followed them long enough to have seen other people get commissions from them. Good clients are those who buying commissions to support the artist because they genuinely like what the artist does, and sees their OC/ideas as helping contribute.

It's part of why YCHs are so popular.

This is also how normie painting commissions work. They don't give the commissioner a design doc, they just give some vague instruction because they trust the artist and want to have an original custom piece from the artist's heart.

Either stop taking comms for shit you hate or raise your prices. Finished work is an advertisement to other commissioners about the kind of work they can expect. If your gap between commissions is pretty long without an appropriately high price, it can affect your perceived value.
