I can't categorize them mentally or study them if I don't have the right terms, for example if the perspective is off I can check the vanishing points, when constructing a body I know all the limbs and muscles that should be accounted for etc

When it comes to colors I have absolutely nothing to grab onto except the objective local colors and how light affects them, when it comes to style and mood I'm lost

For example pic related has a harmonious but stylized/unrealistic color palette, and I edited the green to be different enough to stick out as obviously wrong, if this was something I had to paint from scratch I'd have no idea how to get to the correct final palette during the process, what to have in mind, how the hue and saturation harmonize etc, and would probably have multiple colors sticking out like this green

I also don't have a way to categorize this palette, to me it's a mix of vintage, pastel, royal, and fantasy feels, but if someone asked me to make a painting with those adjectives as guidelines I'd have no idea where to start
