It's funny how a lot of times the simplest advice you knew from the beginning was the answer all along, but you were looking at it from the wrong perspective.
Look inward and let your intuition and desires guide you. Want to draw cute anime girls? Look up tutorials on how to do it. Copy drawings of cute anime girls. Want to get good at backgrounds? Pick any books that cover backgrounds and study them; then study the next one. There's no guide to art, for everyone thinks and desires differently, requiring a unique path to their goals. It doesn't matter what you do, that's the best part! Just jump into the water, anon. Sure, it'll be disorienting and maybe even discouraging at times. But enough time will pass and you'll realize that even without a bulletproof step-by-step guide, you still got closer to your dream, simply because of "just draw". Just draw, and keep desiring.
