And you need to back up your side, as you seem to presuppose our modern understanding of a closed canon projects back into the first century of the Church. It doesn't. The second temple jews themselves didn't have a closed canon. Early Christianity didn't either. If you don't have a closed canon, and no such thing as a closed canon had ever existed, then they cannot have understood a closed canon to mean what we understand it to mean. That's why there are so many conflicting lists in the early Church, and that's why the New Testament was even capable of being considered canonical in the first place. It's basic logic to understand the a car that won't start can't get you to the grocery store, yet somehow we're supposed to believe that a closed canon can be added to. Development of our understanding of a closed canon is the only way to make sense of things. I'd expect some protestants to say that the apostles would have full authority to alter the closed OT canon, but that'd be quite an asspull, as you'd need to cite the New Testament as evidence that the apostles were even allowed to recognize new scriptures. But that doesn't even stand up to scrutiny if we're operating from your side of the rhetorical aisle, as you've been saying "scripture" didn't necessarily mean canonical in the early Church.

Basically there's no way to escape Church authority when discussing this, as we have evidence of submission to the bishop(the letters of St Ignatius) nearly a century before we even see the four gospels listed(St Irenaeus' Against Heresies), let alone a complete 27 book New Testament.

I've never addressed faggoty quote mining and I won't start now. The mere fact of history that not a single list exists that matches the 66 book protestant canon is alone enough for me to discount any attempt at citing the Church fathers to build a case for the Masoretic OT canon.
