The Poles were actively genociding everyone, who looked too German in their country. The entire reason for the quick conquest of Poland was to maximize the amount of saved Germans. Also it meant a better position for future negotiation.

But all of that didn't matter. The Focus Group already had their claws in British parliament and managed to create a pro-war, anti-German attitude. Have you forgotten the weird pre-war war scares, which they concocted? How Germany has to be attacked, because they made a trade deal with Romania and this meant they want to attack Romania or whatever, despite not even sharing a border?
