I could make a long post about how low quality and wrong this is, but I'll just say this. Did you miss the part where tons of people just play the MTL translations for some official eroge and the majority of RPG Maker games? Ignoring the fact that translators in various mediums have outright said they don't want to work on something already half done, all you have to do is look at how many people have played on pirating sites like F95 or the VNDB database and know that nobody is going to touch it after seeing how many have already finished them that way.

If a doujin is by a good enough artist or just sought after, people will do it anyway. They might ignore priority and just do it or put it a tiny bit lower, and do it fairly fast. That doesn't change the fact that a lot of other not major artist doujins will get put on the backburner. A lot of translators who post mainly on ehentai don't do it for free anyway, so whether someone is willing to pay top dollar to get a translation of something they can already somewhat understand is another factor.

If you ever browsed MTL translations for ehentai posts, you'd see a lot of commenters know it does affect translations this way. It affects eroge far more than doujins though, since eroge take way more time and work. That's a big sacrifice for something already half done.
