This is a goddamn lie.
RetroTINK 4K PRO at $750 and its cheaper cousin the CE version at $450 may be expensive but they have a big amount of options for shaders and tweaks etc.
Not as much as Retroarch and PC Emulation of course but they have a lot of stuff.
You can emulate even Composite and RF and you have built in notch/comb filters on the thing(PRO has the better ones though).

Meanwhile with a CRT set you get one look for 240p and that's it.
If you want the blank lines to be thinner and you have a higher line set, the only way is to open up the chassis to tweak the electron beam spot size itself.
Even then you can't change the pitch of the actual phosphors like you can with shaders.

You should open some native 240p images(256x224 or 320x240 or 320x224) of games on your high PPI phone, and if you're using your browser and use a site like Mobygames
>make sure the image is 240p and not upscaled
>make sure Chrome is set to Desktop mode and not to Mobile mode so that you get 1:1 pixel mapping
>Look at them through a magnifying glass or maybe a microscope
You will be BTFO by how good it looks
It makes CRTs and their blank lines look like shit by comparison and proves that nearest-neighbor scaling to an absurdly high PPI screen is the future

You can also do this
>On a 40-42 inch 1080p LCD TV(if you have one)
>Download some native 240p uncompressed images of games from emulator or shit you can find on the web on your laptop
>Plug it on the TV and make sure you display it at 100% 1:1 pixel size with a image program of your choice
>You can also use a PS3
You will be surprised at how good they look, especially games like MM7. If you look at Cloud Man's stage where it snows you can even lower the sharpness to see how the invidividual dots blend even further
