The real "problem" with long hair is that dudes aren't raised to know how to mind after it like women are. Men tend to not know jack shit the amount of work it takes to keep your hair looking nice and VERY sorely underestimate how much time you spend messing with it.

THAT is what women find UNattractive -- your unkempt hair reflects your values.

I don't think I've ever seen a single man irl who looks like he is taking good care of his hair.

Yes, it does actually require the multiple shampoos, the multiple conditioners, going to a hair salon every few months, the works.

I have 4 different shampoos in my shower right now, 3 different conditioners, 2 different leave in condis at different weights, 3 different hair gels, aquanet hairspray, and a multipack of combs + a boar bristle brush.

You really do have to tease it, brush it, touch it, shampoo it correctly, keep clips and ties on you, the works. Or it looks shit.

Hell, if your hair is really long, you may want two DIFFERENT shampoos for your scalp and ends. When I had 4ft of hair this was the case.

There's really good reasons why most cultures simply asked women to braid, bun, and then COVER their hair because it is very hard to keep hair tidy. Silicones & sulfates in shampoos was lifechanging for most Type 1 thru 3 hair textures and helped modernize the styles we have now.

So if you're not going to take care of it, just admit it and keep it short. Do not grow your hair down to your nipples and continue to use 3 in 1 or a hardcore Suave clarifying shampoo every single day. Different products do different things.

You have to commit or you will cook either your hair, your reputation, or both, and all will end in cutting your hair and looking incompetent to everyone else.
