That's because failure load doesn't really matter for most tools, including adjustable wrenches, and because it is in a lot of areas. It performed exceptionally at everything that actually matters except oddly the 1/2 torque test, and it wasn't the only model to have really discordant results there, which suggests there's something to it, whether inherent to the tools or a flaw in PF's test design.

Would I buy it? Still no. I have a random bullshit adjustable somewhere I haven't touched in years because I just use pliers wrenches now, but like most *not all* SnapOn products it isn't worth the price unless you really will find the service useful, like Hilti for power tools.

If I was buying off this list, I would get the Milwaukee (had thoughts of getting it before, I bet you could bolt a hell of a cheater bar on that handle) and also consider the SK and the Sunex for the jaw design.

I'd also consider the Channellock, despite the results... he did test it screwy and I'm a sucker for reducing the bulk of my tool kit with multifunction tools for non-critical, rare need stuff.

This I'll definitely defend him on. The random Amazon sellers usually provide a baseline of shit performance to compare to, and sometimes he finds a diamond in the rough. Meanwhile, I think this also reflects a lot of people's buying practices... my first choice is always going to be either going to my local building supply store (will have brands like Irwin etc) or sometimes Harbor Freight for hand tools (the poor person's SnapOn), then ordering off Amazon because it's easy and lets you get exactly what you want, and only then any of the big box stores if I don't have another practical choice.
