as a carpenter who has used both Paslode and Milwaukee/Makita electric nail guns (also pneumatic guns).

there are pros and cons
paslode cons:
>light as fuck (great for climbing around on roofs and installing trusses
>batteries last ages
>more power
cons:
>gas is expensive
the tip/jaw/push down bit always hits your leg when on your nailbag and its hurts like fuck
>paslode finishing gun jams ALL the fucking time (framer is decent and doesn't jam much)
>high maintenance, lubrication, barrel cleaning etc

electric pros:
>batteries are interchangeable between multiple tools so it fits perfectly into a set and you only need one charger
>doesn't jam very much (I havent used one in a few years so I can't remember but I don't think it did
>very low maintenance just pull it out and fire away

cons:
>heavy as fuck, as soon as I pick it up I am over encumbered
>maybe a little bit more expensive then gas alternatives (gas will add up over time and fuck you though)
>not the best to wear on a nailbag

I won't be purchasing gas again desu the batteries and low maintenance are hard to beat
