Best new comic of the year is easily Space Ghost. Close second for me is Damaged People, but that's an odd case because I read it solely for the art. The stories were bad and the prose was laughable, but the paintings were some of the best comic art I've seen in my life. Some other good ones in particular order:
>Grendel: Devil's Crucible - Defiance
>Dick Tracy
>Turtles of Greyskull
>Watters Nightwing
>Wong Psylocke (genuinely shocked about this one)
>Rocketfellers
>Resident Alien: The Book of Life
>William of Newbury
North's FF and Johnson's Transformers were also great this year, but started earlier.
